Educational Awards
 The 16th Annual Communicator Awards
Vegas PBS Keeping Kids Fit was honored with a 16th Annual Communicator Award of Excellence in the Interactive / Website category. The KKF website was also recognized with an Award of Distinction in the Interactive / Health category.

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), a 550+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.



2010 Communicator Award of Excellence
Vegas PBS received a My Source Education Innovation Award for its Keeping Kids Fit (KKF) program from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) in Washington, D.C.

The My Source Education Innovation Awards recognize and showcase how public broadcasting stations use pioneering approaches and emerging digital technologies to serve the educational needs of their communities on-air, online and in the classroom.

KKF is a childhood obesity initiative modeled after the successful Vegas PBS Ready To Learn literacy community outreach program. KKF targets families with children, ages 2 to 12, by providing exercise and nutrition resources to promote a lifetime of healthy habits. 



My Source Education Innovation Award
NETA 2009The National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) honored Vegas PBS in the area of instructional media for the "Family Literacy Kit for the Blind and Visually-Impaired" at the 2010 NETA Conference.

The NETA Awards are annual recognition of member-produced excellence in public broadcasting, a tradition established more than forty years ago by the pioneering Southern Educational Communications Association.

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), a 450+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.

Vegas PBS Keeping Kids Fit website was honored with W3 Awards in four categories: Community, Education, Health, and Children.

The W³ Awards, sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, honors creative excellence on the web.

Electronic Media Awards (EMA) were presented to the Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Awards Ceremony for Educational TV Program, Vegas PBS for non-profit website and the Vegas PBS Keeping Kids Fit website for the educational website category.

The 21st annual Electronic Media Award event sponsored by Women In Communication, salutes the best each year in Radio, Television, and Individual Achievement.

Vegas PBS's Educational Media Services Newsletter was recently recognized for instructional excellence with the National Educational Telecommunications (NETA) Award for Best Instructional Media Teacher Resource. This is the second consecutive year Vegas PBS has received this national honor.
